larimar :: spring lake
Sunday night we celebrated my father in law’s birthday at Larimar, which recently opened in Spring Lake. I’m a huge fan of anything Italian. Pasta on a Sunday? SIGN ME UP! 🙂
Matt’s sister Christine went a few times over the winter and loved it. We have the same taste, so I was beyond excited to finally check it out! Needless to say, it exceeded my expectations.
The restaurant opens to a bar with the cutest pendant lighting. I always love a restaurant that focuses on a beautiful bar area. It evokes a fun atmosphere, not to mention Matt & I love to snag a seat and eat dinner at the bar when we can!
First and foremost, the decor is stunning. Larimar is a type of blue stone which is only found in the Carribbean; these hues are reflected thoughtfully in their decor, from the lush teal banquettes to the glass blown vases on each table. I can’t stop thinking about ways to incorporate blue into our beach house after spending time here.
Most of the restaurant options down the shore err on the casual side, so it’s fun finding a menu similar to what you’d see in Manhattan. There was a very clear seasonal focus which I always appreciate. I opted for the little gem salad and agnolotti with sage which were both amazing. Nothing that warms my heart more than a ravioli 🙂
And last but not least, dessert! We tried a multitude – but the torta barozzi was the all star.
Counting down the days until we can go back and try the summer menu!
