Hi friends! This weekend we are hanging low in NYC enjoying the absolutely beautiful spring weather! It’s the 2nd weekend in a row we’ve spent at home.. & sadly, I can’t remember the last time we’ve been able to really just relax & enjoy the city. It sounds corny but New York in the spring is truly magical. You realize quickly how crippling the cold can be when the days are longer, the sun is shining and the flowers are in bloom! Everyone seems to come out to play and explore.
Last night we hopped across the Hudson to have dinner w. friends at one of our favorite Hoboken spots, Cucharamama. It’s South American and one of the New Jersey top 25 restaurants.. for good reason. Prime example, my skirt steak below!
Today was another fab dining experience at one of my all time favorite restaurants – Barbuto. Al fresco dining is at the top of my list on a perfect spring day and can definitely be a challenge in NYC. It always seems like everyone else is on the same page with eating in the sun :).
Barbuto is known for 2 things :: opening their walls when it’s nice out & Jonathan Waxman’s roasted chicken. I’ve only been for dinner so wasn’t sure what to expect for brunch. O M G. Unreal. We had the pizza uovo, a kale & spinach salsiccia & of course the chicken. All were to die for!!
I’m an absolute pasta fanatic so was quite jealous when I saw the table next to us order off the menu pasta carbonara…. Needless to say, we’ll be back soon :).
We’re laying low tonight and I am in total wanderlust mode. We don’t have any trips planned for the rest of the year & I’m so eager and excited thinking about the possibilities! Keep you posted on what I find.
