BEACH HOUSE RENOVATION

outdoor fireplaces

I absolutely love the idea of entertaining outdoors. While New Jersey weather isn’t the most optimal year round, taking advantage of the 6 or so warmer months where we can actually hang outside is top of mind when contemplating how to configure our backyard.

One thing we continue to bring up is an outdoor firepit of some sort. Personally, my vote is for an actual fireplace vrs a firepit. It feels a bit more intimate and visually appealing. Plus, I’m lazy and bringing the actual fire closer to eye height seems ideal 🙂

larimar :: spring lake

Sunday night we celebrated my father in law’s birthday at Larimar, which recently opened in Spring Lake. I’m a huge fan of anything Italian. Pasta on a Sunday? SIGN ME UP! 🙂

Matt’s sister Christine went a few times over the winter and loved it. We have the same taste, so I was beyond excited to finally check it out! Needless to say, it exceeded my expectations.

fence fail

You know the feeling when you attempt to make a new recipe, and you’re SO excited envisioning how pretty it will look and how amazing it’ll taste… when 3/4 of the way through, you realize that you’ve completely screwed up a key component. Next thing you know, your hopes and dreams are in the trash. Yep, I do. Happened to me a few weeks ago with this exact ombre cake :)… & that is exactly how I am feeling after this weekend.

fence countdown!

Guys!!! SO close to the weekend and do you know what that means? Our fence is finally getting installed. Unfortunately this project was pushed back a week due to some ceaseless rain. Finally clear skies are abound and we should be good to go!

When exclaiming my excitement, one coworker asked in confusion if we had dogs – not really wrapping their head around why a fence would be SO monumental. I guess I should explain :).

TRAVEL

wanderlusting

This is the first time in awhile we haven’t had a trip on the docket. In a way, it’s nice to think of all the possibilities… & of course, to realize it only means we have more time to enjoy our beach home and NYC!

Lately I’ve realized how many amazing spots there are locally in the New York/New Jersey area I have yet to explore. I’m making it a goal of mine to start arranging more weekend trips to places on my bucket list that are way overdue, and totally accessible!

happy weekend

Hi friends! This weekend we are hanging low in NYC enjoying the absolutely beautiful spring weather! It’s the 2nd weekend in a row we’ve spent at home.. & sadly, I can’t remember the last time we’ve been able to really just relax & enjoy the city. It sounds corny but New York in the spring is truly magical. You realize quickly how crippling the cold can be when the days are longer, the sun is shining and the flowers are in bloom! Everyone seems to come out to play and explore.
